PAIN, SLEEP AND TRAUMATOLOGY LABORATORY<\/h4>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

This laboratory was founded and is directed by Dr. Gilles Lavigne. It includes 2 sleep recording bedrooms, 2 psychophysics laboratories and a station dedicated to analyses. The laboratory is equipped to carry out various research projects in collaboration with trainees, post-docs and with Drs. Caroline Arbour, Jacques Montplaisir, Jean-Marc Chauny, Raoul Daoust, Ronald Denis, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Gigu\u00e8re, Pierre Mayer, Guy Rouleau and Nelly Huynh. The laboratory aims to understand sleep-pain interactions in populations suffering musculoskeletal pain, headaches, or acute or chronic post-trauma pain.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Located in the H\u00f4pital du Sacr\u00e9-C\u0153ur, the Dream and Nightmare Laboratory was founded and is directed by Dr. Tore Nielsen. Research projects are focused on both normal healthy dreaming and various dream disorders like nightmares and sleep paralysis. It is equipped with two bedrooms for sleep recording and a virtual reality room. This laboratory allows for the study of dreams and memory in relation to REM sleep and other physiological and personality characteristics. <\/span>This laboratory allows the study of dreams and memory in relation with paradoxical sleep characteristics. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

MOLECULAR PHYSIOLOGY AND SLEEP LABORATORY<\/h4>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The molecular physiology and sleep laboratory was founded and is directed by Dr. Val\u00e9rie Mongrain. It is located in the Biomedicine Center (K wing) and is equipped for rodent sleep recording with telemetry equipment. The laboratory allows simultaneous and continuous recordings of EEG, locomotor activity and body temperature for 12 mice at a time. The laboratory also includes a \"wet lab\" with benches for carrying out molecular biology protocols.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Located on the 5th floor of the J wing of the H\u00f4pital du Sacr\u00e9-C\u0153ur, this laboratory has three sleep recording rooms and is used by the teams of Julie Carrier, Marie Dumont and Nadia Gosselin. The laboratory is dedicated to the study of sleep and biological rhythms including hormonal secretion associated with sleep, the effects of night work and the effects of aging and exposure to light.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Located in the H\u00f4pital de sant\u00e9 mentale Rivi\u00e8re-des-Prairies, this laboratory has two sleep recording rooms and two rooms for people accompanying children and adolescents. The laboratory also has ambulatory sleep measurement devices (actigraphy, videosomnography, cardiorespiratory sleep polygraphy). It is used by Roger Godbout\u2019s and Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Pennestri\u2019s research teams. The laboratory is dedicated to the study of sleep, dreams, EEG and cognitive performance in neurotypic children and adolescents and those with a psychiatric disorder.
